The words of songs stay with us long after we sing.
San Diego is usually sunny - not last week. Last week was misty and cloudy and "practically perfect in every way." Just enough sun at just the right times.
I was in San Diego for the Renovare Covenant Retreat. I arrived on Tuesday and after getting settled had dinner with my daughter's friends. We talked about their future in the medical profession and life with God. That kind of conversation continued all during the days of the retreat over meals, as we walked and talked. Talking about ordinary life and our longing for God. While the details of conversations haven’t stayed with me the words of this song are imprinted on my mind and in my heart. What joy – Christ with me in my journey. And with you as well.
Christ when I lie down.
Christ when I rise.
Christ in my journey.
Christ in my heart.
Christ go before me.
Christ be my shield.
